OPHTHALMOLOGICAL EMERGENCIES IN MADRID
12-HOUR EMERGENCY OPHTHALMOLOGY SERVICE.
It is very important to know when we should go to an emergency ophthalmologist, since in certain cases the success of the treatment will be determined by a rapid diagnosis and immediate intervention.
Here we explain in which cases patients require an emergency ophthalmology service.
HOW DO WE KNOW IF IT IS AN OPHTHALMOLOGICAL EMERGENCY?
There are a series of signs and symptoms that can guide us when deciding whether it is an ophthalmological emergency:
If we talk about ophthalmological emergencies in Madrid, the Martínez de Carneros Clinic has a service with maximum attention and urgency to those patients who come to our clinic with a possible serious eye problem.
We have an emergency ophthalmology service from Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. (except in August).
HOW DOES THE OPHTHALMOLOGICAL EMERGENCY SERVICE WORK AT THE MARTÍNEZ DE CARNEROS CLINICS?
Patients need to make an appointment in advance to go to our emergency department, calling and explaining their problem to be attended by an ophthalmologist specialist and give a diagnosis and treatment as quickly as possible.
WHEN TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY OPHTHALMOLOGIST?
When in doubt, it is always advisable to go immediately to be checked by a specialist ophthalmologist.
Successful treatment will lie in early diagnosis and treatment.
Sometimes it is difficult to help the patient by telephone, so we always recommend going physically to the clinic to be studied by a specialist ophthalmologist.
